AdultVest Goes on the Prowl

Finding outside capital is about to get easier. As a response to the difficulty that the adult industry faces in raising capital, investment bank AdultVest has scheduled a series of meetings that will bring investors and capital-seekers together.

The industry’s first investment bank hopes these meetings will help the owners of adult entertainment companies to achieve a variety of business objectives, including capitalization, acquisition or sale and even the sale of securities to the public. Likewise, the firm believes this approach to investment targeting will help investors begin to understand a market that many mainstream financial institutions and individual investors do not understand.

Starting February 27, 2008 and continuing on the last Wednesday of each month, AdultVest executives will listen to presentations from adult entertainment business owners. Ventures that meet AdultVest’s internal standards will be presented on the following day at the firm’s monthly investor meeting. Monthly investor meetings are open to institutional and high net worth individual investors of all types, including private equity, hedge and venture capital funds, as well as investment bankers, angel investors and financial advisors. Meeting locations will be announced one week ahead of meeting dates.

While only a few companies will be able to participate in the Wednesday presentations, AdultVest Managing Director Francis Koenig hopes that many will apply. Koenig has indicated consistently that AdultVest is interested in the entire spectrum of new adult businesses, as long as they have the potential to generate substantial returns.

The monthly meetings represent an unusual opportunity for investors in particular. Global markets are awash in capital, increasing the competition for viable deals. Morgan Stanley puts global hedge fund assets at close to $3 trillion, with another $3 trillion in global assets coming from sovereign wealth funds. According to Private Equity Intelligence, Ltd. (PREQIN), 41% of the $2 trillion private equity industry ($820 billion) is actually sitting on the sidelines, awaiting investment.

There is a considerable amount of money on the sidelines, making conditions unique for the adult entertainment industry. AdultVest’s new program should resonate with both sides of the investment market, particularly investors, as there is an emerging shortage of high-quality investment opportunities.
